Join us May 20th to spark a sense of wonder and challenge individual perception. Upstairs Grassroots St. Pete will be transformed with the work of Kurt-Dale Watson, an artist and digital content creator. Born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, his primary focus is expression of personal creative development through seasonal transitions. Working mostly with paper, wood, acrylic and spray paint. The process of solving illustrative puzzles and combining geometric elements to highlight personal and emotional discovery. Serving in the Navy for 5 years, he was able to live and work in Japan, while deploying to various countries in the South Pacific. A Full Sail University alumnus, he returned to St. Petersburg in 2011, gravitating toward the arts community and has been involved in events and productions ever since. His work is a meditative process that tackles various complex and personal ideas. There are meticulous elements that sometimes require days of preparation and others that allow for expressive movement using color and texture within predetermined boundaries. He attempts to connect with the audience through themes such as rebirth and the relationships we have with ourselves, through cultural identity. Muddy Buddies is coming out to grace us with their talents - seriously, these guys are so fun and talented. Born from a love of kava and music, this boisterous brotherhood combines elements of jazz, folk, and progressive indie rock to soothe the soul with original grooves. Grab your buddies that like to get muddy (or that drink coffee or kratom) and come out to support this unique vibe.

Self-taught in Flamenco as well as many other styles until moving to Austin, TX, David Massey learned from the flamenco guitarists of TX and created his own unique sound. Influenced by flamenco artists like Vicente Amigo and Gypsy Kings as well as rock and classical music, David's style also incorporates western themes similar to Ennio Morricone's work in The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly and others. You can not miss this. He will blow you away!
