Anna Dean is a professional arts administrator and musician, skilled in both the administrative aspects of the arts and the captivating artistry of violin and fiddle playing. Originating from Mississippi, Anna’s musical journey began with classical violin training, which later evolved into a passion for fiddle/folk-fusion. Her unique musical style blends Celtic melodies with Latin rhythms, infusing bluegrass ornamentation with soulful blues. Anna actively seeks opportunities for growth by attending music festivals, recording sessions, and participating in tours and large gatherings. Throughout the Southeast, she collaborates with various bands, including her role as the electric and acoustic fiddler for Sandujazz.
The main objective of this project is to explore the dynamic relationships that exist between different genres of world music, with a focus on uncovering similarities and fusing cultural concepts. Throughout the concert, the intention is to take the audience on a captivating musical journey, traversing a diverse range of genres that may include American, Celtic, Brazilian, Colombian, Cuban, Central American, and African influences. This performance promises to challenge the musician while delivering a truly unique fusion of music, offering the audience an extraordinary experience that is seldom encountered elsewhere.
